LV 4 Life

Paris fashion week definitely came to a fabulous close with the Louis Vuitton show drawing the silk curtain.

I love the Parisian fashion week and this time around LV is my absolute favorite. The hottest thigh high boots you've ever seen, gorgeous accessories (like the necklace on Raquel above), and stunning hair and makeup. Every piece looked like it could cost you the mortgage on your house! Oh, Marc, thank god you're running the place.

Another thing that I loved about the show was the fierce music. Just because of the show I downloaded two of Towa Tei's albums. Give "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" a listen, as it was part of the glamorous show soundtrack.

And They Speak!

Sonia Rykiel Fall/Winter 2009/2010. An apparent blast for both the models and the show attendees. My understanding is that every model had a tag line to repeat throughout the show several times, either in French or English. In my opinion, this really showed which models were the most versatile. This is definitely what I think fashion should be like. Fun and ridiculous, but most of all completely gorgeous.

Walking the Walk

I'm a huge fan of Vlada Roslyakova's runway. She has this fabulous walk that few others can come close to replicating.

Who do you think has the best walk in the business? I want to know!

You're Such An Ice Queen!

John Galliano's ideal beauty for Fall/Winter 2009/2010. The show is absolutely fab! Snow falling, all the girls walking to the end of the runway without tripping over themselves, and intense looks. This is exactly why John is one my favorite designers of all time. He really knows what he's doing whether it be at Galliano or Dior.

Snow queen, Russian bride, the list could go on forever. I immediately thought of a northern Moulin Rouge, especially because the first song of the show was El Tango De Roxanne from the movie.
Like I said, all the models made it without falling. Definitely surprising. Poor ladies.

Be sure to check out the show at the John Galliano website! Both the show and the website are phenomenal!

Scantily Clad

As you may have already figured out, Reid Prebenda is probably my favorite male model of all time. With Red Model Management in NYC, it seems like he's been everywhere, even posing with female models in Russian Vogue. Just as a warning, there is some partial nudity in the video. Enjoy!

I also have the feeling that Mariano happens to be more obsessed with Reid than I am. It's great to see that even an intelligent and well put together model like Reid can have a slighty trampy side. It doesn't matter though, because any way you look at it, he is gorgeous.

Everything Happens For A Reason

Kathleen Burbridge, I absolutely adore her. Her mother agency is Mode out of Calgary, Alberta. Met her through a friend in second year university when her modeling career was just kicking off. She's a very interesting girl. A joy to talk with!
Kathleen in a stunning Dazed & Confused shoot (click for a larger photo). She definitely has amazing editorial appeal.

Today, while chatting over the internet, I had to ask what her favorite and not so favorable parts of the industry are. According to her and many other models, "traveling and meeting interesting people from all over" ranks among the top reasons for why one would like to become a model. And the not so favored? "Lack of sleep," also similar to most other industry kids. Apparently sleep catches up to even models. "When I came home I slept 10 hours a night for 2 weeks." Yikes. When I asked what the worst she had been through with regards to lack of to sleep she replied, "having to shoot all Sunday, falling asleep at 1am for a 6am call time and working until 9pm." Glamorous, but the girl loves it, and it definitely shows.

Setting a Couple New Tones

Jade green and pink, practically groundbreaking for Chanel Fall/Winter 2009/2010. Jessica and Tanya definitely pull it off well.
The hats are to die for!

Craft Master, Bahaha.

Another new mix. I know, you're probably sick of them all by now :).

I'm pretty proud of this one. I've almost made no mistakes on this one at all. What really inspired me to create this mix was MSTRKRFT's new release, "Fist of God." More than epic and more than epic amounts of vocals compared to the last one. And because this CD was my inspiration I decided to include all of my favorite songs from it on this new mix, which is surely more than half the release, ha.
Just as a warning for download time, this mix is over 40 minutes long. Enjoy!

Maybe it's Maybellima

Adriana Lima walking in the Givenchy Fall/Winter 2009/2010 ready-to-wear show. Weird. This may sound mean or stuck up, but I really don't think she's meant for the runway. Pretty editorials or campaigns, sure. The cover of a men's style mag, why the hell not? But runways other than Victoria's Secret? Maybe Ricardo Tisci was attempting to make a statement by including her in the show this time round.

What do you think? My opinion is that she should just stick to throwing fake money in the air while having a pretend bath for Maybelline.

Kinga of the Jungle

Kinga Rajzak, my new favorite old model. Apparently she's been around a while. I feel bad for passing her by until now. The girl practically calls out to your with her spectacular features.
Born in Slovakia but of Hungarian descent, this girl practically has almost no accent at all. I wish her the best. To be honest, what caught my eye was her walk and slow mo profile in style.com's coverage of the Burberry Prorsum FW 09/10 show. Divine.

The French Inspire Yet Again

Not only does Fevrier's French Vogue boast spreads upon spreads of fantastic photos of Lara Stone, but it also a nice little picture of Marc Jacobs.
Marc has obviously been to the gym in the last little while. I heard he was on some crazy diet. Poor guy. It definitely paid off though. I mean, LOOK AT HIM! Most designers look frumpy and weathered.

I know that this has been my second blog in a row with shirtless men, but I promise I will not be turning it into a male slut fest. The idea is nice though!

Denim, Grease, & The Absence Of Shirts

Photographer Mariano Vivanco captures Reid Prebenda, Alan Carey, and Simon Nessman for Numero Homme. I would've killed to be at that photo shoot. This issue is MINE! Look for these boys on runways everywhere. Click to reveal a larger image. I'm sure you will want to.

The All Inspiring Lindsay

A short while ago DSQUARED² released their fall/winter collection. Their inspiration? Girls like Lindsay. The busy hollywood starlets and socialites running around town with Starbucks in hand seem to all the same style! Insanity! Can you catch the resemblance?

Starbucks definitely got a huge plug throughout the show, but if you ask me, so did crack cocaine.

Master Draper

So excited for when I will be able to view Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2009/2010 show on video. I just know the music will be amazing. I'll post a listing of the tracks used as soon as I know them!
Nicolas Ghesquière really sets a new tone this season. This color palette almost looks like it should be for spring! The draping on these pieces is especially gorgeous. Love.
